Adventurous day-hike away from the crowds

You didn’t come to the Blue Mountains to see the inside of a bus did you? The reason why the mountains are so famous is because of the magnificent landscape and stunning nature. Get right into the heart of it on this action-filled day hike in the beautiful World Heritage National Park.

  • Action filled day-hike off the traditional tourist trail

  • Includes a ride on the World's steepest railway - Backwards!

  • Get up close to the famous Three Sisters

  • Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch with Blue Mountains produce

  • Relax on the journey as we transport you to and from Sydney

What will I see?

Starting early from Sydney, we’ll arrive in the Blue Mountains, and immediately be immersed in the stunning Australian bush. Descending through the canopy of sub-tropical rainforest, you’ll be surrounded by the fresh scent of the Eucalyptus forest as you follow the magical Leura cascades to the valley floor.

At the bottom, we can rest under the historic rotunda, listening to the song of bellbirds echoing through the forest, before following a moderately flat trail that curves under the soaring sandstone cliffs. Our guides love what they do, and they'll take the time to share fascinating facts about the plants you see along the way, the geological phenomenons of the mountains, and as much human history as you can handle!

Arriving at Scenic World, we'll ride out of the valley in style on the World’s Steepest Railway, before stopping for a well-deserved break and a gourmet picnic lunch; a kaleidoscope of fresh produce and local artisan products from the region.

For the rest of the tour, we’ll stay high above the valley. Several dramatic lookouts will provide expansive views of the famous Three Sisters, the mighty Mt Solitary and the entire Jamieson Valley, stretching as far as the eye can see. Ending the tour with a final, stretch of beautiful rainforest, we’ll hop back on our private air-conditioned bus and head back to Sydney’s CBD.

This tour is perfect for anyone who wants a locally guided experience, away from the crowds and amongst the beautiful nature that made the Blue Mountains so famous!

What fitness level do I need?

The Blue Mountains really should be called the Blue Valleys, because you always start up high and go down! This is a decent day walk, and a reasonable level of fitness is required to complete the track. Guests can expect to be walking for approximately 6-7 hours, broken up with regular breaks.

For anyone that suffers from knee pain, we recommend using a pair of walking poles for support. Gone are the days when poles were deemed to be ‘dorky’, using poles is actually really beneficial for your knees as they take a significant amount of pressure off your joints.

We hire out lightweight, collapsible walking poles for just $20 a pair. If you’re interested, please add them to your order when booking.
