ULTIMATE WATERFALL WALK
Think you've 'done' the Blue Mountains? Well think again. This epic one-day hike will get your heart racing as you head off the beaten track through the most majestic waterfall-chasing trail!
Delve deeper into the Blue Mountains, on an exciting and virtually unknown track, leaving behind the crowds
Be guided by Sara, an expert guide who will bring to life the landscape, and teach you incredible facts about the ecology of nature, history and geology
Go wild swim in the freezing cold waters of Wentworth Falls
Meet other like-minded people and make new and true social connections
Be spoilt with a hot cup of coffee or tea, and a tasty treat amongst the trees
9:00 am - We'll meet at Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains at 9 am - make sure you leave enough time for a coffee stop on your way from Sydney, so you're ready to go. Sara will take you through a safety briefing, and then we begin the hike, rapidly descending into the bush via the Valley of the Waters track.
11:00 am -After following the cascade down into the valley, we'll take a break beside the rushing stream, to rest our knees and wrap our hands around a hot cup of tea or coffee. There's no rush, so we'll take our time to bask in the soothing sounds of the waterfalls.
12:00 pm - Rested and refuelled, we'll continue hiking down towards Vera Falls. Visiting the top of the falls, and then standing at the bottom, you'll be awed by the sheer scale of the valley, wrapped by the commanding Kudumba walls.
1:30 pm - After reaching the bottom, the only way is up! We begin our climb back out, the trail leading steeply past Wentworth Falls and dipping in and out of lush rainforest, eucalyptus bushland and past several more majestic waterfalls. We'll rest for lunch along the way, to catch our breath and soak up the views.
4:00 pm (approx.) - Almost there! The remainder of the trail includes a steep climb out the valley via the Slack Stairs, a series of metal ladders built into the cliff line, before joining the grand staircase, an incredible series of hand-cut sandstone steps beside the roaring Wentworth Falls. There is no need to rush through, and we'll take our time to enjoy the final moments in nature before returning to our vehicles at approximately 4 pm.
