for a truly rejuvenating weekend!
Get out of the city and join us for this special collaboration with yoga teacher Steph Lewis. It’s the Ruined Castle Overnighter trip you know and love, complete with mindful moments and daily yoga and meditation practices tailored to help you unwind after a day of walking.
What will I do?
Walk, breathe, move, practice yoga, meditate, connect. All the good stuff, basically. Mindful moments and meditation will be woven throughout the two days, as well as a yin-style practice at the end of day one to stretch you out after a day of walking. We will rise with the sun on day two and start with a vinyasa flow to prepare for our mountain climb!

What will I see?
A lot! After you’ve finished scrambling up mountains, dashing over waterfalls and traversing colossal landslides, you’ll wonder how you fit it all into just two days! On this tour, you will climb not one, but two mountains, meander through lush tunnels of rainforest, and spend a night out underneath the stars!
Day 1: Depart Sydney, Leura to Ruined Castle | 8km (+2km optional afternoon walk)
Day 2: Mt Solitary Summit, Ruined Castle to Katoomba, return to Sydney | 14km
On Day 2, we will ride the World's Steepest Railway out of the valley for a dramatic, (and less physical) end to the tour. If you have any concerns about this, you can also choose to hike out of the valley via the Fuber Stairs (45 mins approx).
What do I need?
If you have a lightweight yoga mat that you love, please bring it along. Otherwise you’re welcome to use one of ours!
Aside from that, you don't need much else. We’re pretty proud of the all-inclusive nature of our tours, and all you really need is a decent pair of hiking shoes and some clothing. We don’t want you forking out $100’s for high-tech gear, which is why we provide all the life-saving essentials.
We also encourage you to unplug for the weekend – feel free to bring your screen #forthegram, but minimal use is advised for the full unwind experience.

What fitness level do I need?
This Yoga x Hike tour is an entry-level walk. We cover shorter distances each day, and both mountain climbs are optional, and only require a daypack (which is provided). The yoga classes will be tailored to suit all levels of experience.
In saying that, you are still expected to carry a backpack of approximately 10-14kgs in weight, and walk around 10kms. We highly recommend some pre-trip training, which will not only make your experience better but is also a great chance to just get fit and healthy.
To provide you with the best ‘pre-trip’ training, we consulted one of Sydney’s leading Personal Trainers, to develop a custom program specifically targeting the key muscles and fitness requirements for this hike. It’s a combination of both HIIT and strength training and will have you well on your way to success! The training program is included with all tour bookings!

Steph Lewis has a strong focus on mindful and joyful movement in her vinyasa flow and yin classes.
Inspired by the results a strong commitment to regular practice brought her to a deeper awareness, she’s completed 350 hours of vinyasa teacher training with InYoga, and 100 hours of yin yoga teacher training with Melanie McLaughlin.
Steph teaches corporate and studio classes, including people newer to yoga, and loves encouraging her students to fall back in love with movement, find stillness and nourish themselves through the practice. On and off the mat, Steph loves exploring how slowing down can help her find more space, attention and intention, and her classes will leave you feeling present, steady and refreshed
